 Today as the Director, Centre for Transformative Advancement of Development for Africa (CTADA) at Gregory University Uturu, Abia State, Nigeria, Professor Magnus Onuoha visited Nigeria's Honorable Minister of States for Education, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba in his Abuja office where he presented a letter and copies of the book "Get on Board for SDG-Ten Year Surge" on behalf of The Sovereign Prince of the Nation State of the Principality of Seborga, Nicolos de Seborga. It was a fulfilled promise of the Prince to the Minister of States for Education during the United Nation launch of CTADA in September, 2020. CTADA and The Sovereign Nation with other notable stakeholders are in the partnership to render transformative and digital education in Nigeria in particular, and Africa at large. RENEWABLE ENERGY: GERMANY ADOPTS NEW GUIDELINES FOR RENEWABLE ENERGIES IN TRANSPORT SECTOR

  At the suggestion of Environment Minister Svenja Schulze, the federal government of Germany on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 increased the share of renewable energies in the transport sector to 28 percent by 2030. This means that Germany goes well beyond the EU   requirements   of 14 percent. German Environment Minister, Svenja Schulze In  addition  to stronger incentives for green hydrogen, new charging stations and advanced biofuels that are obtained from residues instead of food, the change in the law also provides for biofuels made from palm oil to be phased out. ENVIRONMENT: GROUP CLEANS JABI LAKE IN ABUJA

The Society for Planet and Prosperity (SPP), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), on Saturday, February 6, 2021 began a  cleanup  at Jabi Lake fishing area in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Jabi Lake Park, Abuja Mr Oghenemere Orugbo, Executive Director of the organisation who supervised the exercise, said that the aim was to create awareness on the dangers of living in filthy environment. Orugbo said that the operation was determined to rid the environment of heaps of refuse.   The Oando Foundation of Nigeria, Sumitomo Chemical of China with the technical support of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) recently built the capacity of some public   primary school   teachers in Lagos State on recycling and environmental sustainability at a forum themed: “Upcycling and composting in schools and   communities ”. Participants at the training The workshop, held on January 21, 25 and 27, 2021, had 100 participants drawn from Dele Ajomale Primary School, Ilasamaja; Metropolitan Primary School, Orile-Iganmu; and Dada Olisa Primary School, Papa Ajao, Mushin in Lagos. Aside the teachers, other participants were parents and community members. The organisers consider business of wastes recycling to be a viable means of revenue generation for schools, communities and families. CLIMATE CHANGE: U.S. CLIMATE POLICY LEADERS RELEASE AMAZON FOREST PROTECTION PLAN

A bipartisan group of former U.S. cabinet officials and chief climate negotiators has come together to build support for the Biden-Harris campaign pledge to protect the Amazon rainforests.  The group has offered concrete policy  recommendations  to Congress and Presidential Special Envoy John Kerry, to whom the task of delivering on this promise will fall. WASTE: GROUP EVACUATES 5,000 PLASTIC BOTTLES IN POPULAR KADUNA MARKET FOR CONVERSION

An NGO, African Climate Reality Project, says it has evacuated 5,000 plastic bottles at the popular Station Market in Kaduna to improve sanitation in the area. Unsorted plastic waste Gloria Bulus, its coordinator in West Africa, made this known on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Kaduna State capital at the “Beat Plastic Waste’’ campaign organised by the NGO. She said plastics, Styrofoam (food “take-away’’ packs) and nylon, constituted the major part of wastes generated in Kaduna State, hence the need to regularly dispose of them properly. “We are auditing the classes and brands of plastics which will inform part of our campaign in beating plastic pollution. “We will audit to know the products consumed in the plastics so we can inform companies to convert to sustainable alternatives of biodegradable packaging,’’ she said.
