INDIAN BIODIESEL INDUSTRY CALLING FOR UCO POLICY TO SUPPORT COLLECTION

The national biodiesel association in India hosted a car rally to promote the collection of used cooking oil for producing biodiesel.


There is no policy regulating UCO, although the regulation permitting the blending of biodiesel into fossil diesel published at the end of June. The association believes 4 million tons of UCO could be converted into biodiesel if collected. More than 22 million metric tons of cooking oil consumed annually across the country.
