The forest monitoring system through satellite data would help the country improve “conservation, sustainable management of forests, enhancement of forest carbon stocks and monitor changes in the forest land use and detect deforestation land degradation activities,” said Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam. ENVIRONMENT: GROUP CLEANS JABI LAKE IN ABUJA

The Society for Planet and Prosperity (SPP), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), on Saturday, February 6, 2021 began a  cleanup  at Jabi Lake fishing area in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Jabi Lake Park, Abuja Mr Oghenemere Orugbo, Executive Director of the organisation who supervised the exercise, said that the aim was to create awareness on the dangers of living in filthy environment. Orugbo said that the operation was determined to rid the environment of heaps of refuse.
